Happy Gemini season to all who celebrate! Really though, it is my birth month so prepare to be sick of me. I love birthdays and celebrating and all of there above (DUH I’m a gemini). I have a lovely birthday dinner planned in the coming weeks more on that next week. Birthdays are a time to reflect, to check in with yourself and set goals/intentions for the year ahead. Lucky for me my birthday is the halfway point of the calendar year (perfect for this chronic type A). If you know me you know I’m nostalgic, always reflecting and checking in and trying to find a deep meaning to what is happening in the present (Sue me!!!). So what does it mean to be a Gemini? According to AI (ew lol)— “a gemini is known for its adaptability, intellect, and communication skills. Geminis are often portrayed as social butterflies, quick-witted, and curious, always seeking to learn and explore new experiences.” Thanks AI keep the compliments coming. I am a sales rep in the real world so this does resonate. We must go deeper though (are you starting to get it?) although these traits make for the perfect person (IMO) we all have shortcomings (even me) and I have been trying to understand where they stem from this year. They say gemini’s can be perceived as flaky due to our quick changing moods which really hit the nail on the head for me. I can be a bit stubborn and when I decide I want (or don’t) want to do something there’s no going back.
In true Gemini fashion I digress from my tangent. I truly have grown so much since this time last year (iykyk) but it is real people— let go of what isn’t serving you. We have one life and we get to choose how we WANT to live it. I keep coming back to this quote (shocker) my dear friend Syd shared with me— “What a blessing to be tired in pursuit of a challenge of your own choosing, to build the life you’ve always dreamed of.”
Truly how lucky can we be to get to do everything we want to do in this life. This quote sums up how I’ve been living and feeling since this time last year. Don’t get me wrong it hasn’t always been smooth sailing but there’s beauty in the hard work and failures. Even more in the small wins. I am using this time to look back on the last year and I wouldn’t have thought I’d be where I am now. The work is worth it people!!! I can’t stress this enough. I am proud of myself, I am proud of what I’ve done and what I will continue to do. I wish I could give younger me a hug and tell her it’s all worth it. I can’t thank my friends and family enough for their love and support in this life it truly means the world to me and to my substackers I am so happy you’re here and I am so happy to be writing this every week and committing to something I love. Here’s to the best year yet!
